…is the mission that drives Austin Bat Refuge. Austin, Texas plays host to millions of bats in the world’s largest urban bat colony under the Congress Avenue Bridge. Even with such a notable presence in the city, bats are commonly feared and misunderstood - a problem that Austin Bat Refuge combats daily. Providing both educational events for the public and humane rehabilitative care for wayward or injured bats, Austin Bat Refuge is reversing the stereotypes associated with these remarkable animals.
With all this and our own fondness of bats in mind, Nor’easter was thrilled to play a small part in Austin Bat Refuge’s recent fundraising efforts for Amplify Austin. Leveraging Spark AR, two unique effects were designed and programmed to let Austin locals’ love of bats shine through.
